Wood, an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial from nature, plays a crucial role in the development of human civilization and environment. International Wood Culture Society (IWCS) invites everyone to share their passion for wood and to acquire a more comprehensive knowledge of wood on this special day to better put the core concept of “Wood is Good” into practice in our daily lives.

CHANGE
We’re living in a rapidly changing world, people make changes to improve their life, to inherit and preserve their culture, to enhance their living environment and nature. That being said, the contest is looking for photographs that can best represent what has been changed to people’s perception of wood use and how the change is affecting the world today.
People category - Observe the difference of wood use in the past and present.
This is a contest with a 'elite license' at VOUBS. All the prize awards are guaranteed and witheld from the organizer by VOUBS!

GRAND PRIZE (1) - $2,500 (USD)
● The winning photographer will be awarded with a $2,500 cash prize.

World Wood Day is on March 21st, the vernal equinox, to highlight wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise awareness on the key role wood plays in a sustainable world through biodiversity and forest conservation. The day serves as a reminder of the importance and true value of wood and its responsible uses.
EXPLORE AND EXPERIENCE
A major event is organized annually on March 21, usually week-long, to celebrate wood across disciplines. Artists, educators, hobbyists, and industries come together from different lands, languages and cultures to share experiences, skills and passions for wood. The event centralizes various uses of wood which allows extrapolation and eventual application to individual lifestyles. Satellite events are organized in different regions throughout the year to continue the exploration and experiences.
International Wood Culture Society (IWCS) is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of wood enthusiasts, dedicated to the research, education and promotion of wood culture.
