Pro Carton is the European Association of Carton and Cartonboard manufacturers and aims to promote the use of cartonboard as one of the most sustainable materials in the industry.

Description

The Pro Carton Young Designers Award is one of Europe’s leading annual young talent competitions for packaging design and plays a pioneering role in promoting sustainability as it focuses exclusively on cartonboard design!

Submissions are now open until May 17th 2018, there are no entry fees.

All winners, finalists and each of their lecturers will be invited to the Gala Awards dinner and award ceremony at the European Carton Makers Association (ECMA) Congress in September 2018 in Riga/Latvia. All expenses will be covered by Pro Carton: Travel costs, 2 nights in a luxury hotel, the elegant Award Gala and even a budget for night out in Riga!

The category winners will go on a 2-day visit to the Metsä Board Mill in Finland plus receive a 5-day practical training in the design department of the international cartonboard producer Mayr-Melnhof Karton.

There will also be an online voting with the best shortlisted designs of 2018 where every designer and every voter has the chance to win the latest iPad Air!

Jury

Satkar GIDDA
The jury consists of designers, brand owners, retailers as well as manufacturers of cartonboard and cartons. The jury will be announced around February. This ensures that the needs of the entire Supply Chain are taken into consideration. The jury will meet in The Hague in June 2018.

Rewards

All finalists will be invited to the award gala in Riga at the ECMA congress (European Carton Makers Association). The winners will be invited to Metsä Board in Finland for a trip behind the scenes of the cartonboard production mill and a practical training at Mayr-Melnhof Packaging in Austria. There will also be an online voting for the best shortlisted designs from June until September, where the winning design and a voter can win an iPad Air.
