The 2nd VIPA (VOUBS international Photography Awards) is just around the corner and is coming up fast.

Photography professionals and even hobbyists should take part in this exclusive contest as it’s a great opportunity for International recognition and a high exposure rate to the right market as well. The contest has very transparent voting rules and will have a professional jury panel to judge every entry per photo category.

The 2nd VIPA is one of the biggest photography contests out there and aside from international recognition opportunities; it also has stimulating cash prizes to excite you. The contest will be divided into 6 main categorieswhich are also sub-divided into 4 sub-categories per main categories: People (Children, Portraits, Family, and Lifestyle), Advertising (Fashion and Beauty, Food, Product, Vehicle), Nature (Landscape, Macro, Underwater, Wildlife), Architecture (Bridges, Buildings, Cityscapes, Interior), Reportage (Culture, Event, News, Politics), and a Special category (Night, Sports, Travel, Wedding). Each winner of the sub-categories will win a top prize of 500 Euros.

The photographer who has the highest total score as a sum from all his/her entries in all 6 categories, he/she has a chance to become the new Photographer of the Year, win 5000 Euros and the Golden VOUBS statuette.

The registration period is open now and will end by February 15 of 2018. The voting period will be divided by two – one side for user voting which will go from September 15 and that will end on March 15 of 2018; the next section of votes will be allocated for the professional Jury which will start from January 1 of 2018 and will end on March 1, 2018. The winners will be announced March 23, 2018 and the official ceremony will be held in April of 2018. The venue will be announced later. The winners will have an opportunity for an exclusive 14 international exhibitions which will run from May 2018 through February 2019.

Those who are interested to join may register at the official website (https://www.voubs.com/vipa/2017) and pay an entry fee of 20 Wings, a virtual wallet currency designed especially for all contests at VOUBS. Short rules

1. Subject

• These short rules (hereinafter referred to as the SHORT RULES) settle the terms and conditions for the participation in this unique contest.
• These short rules are written in compliance with the GENERAL RULES for participation in VOUBS contests.
• If there is a conflict between the GENERAL RULES AND SHORT RULES, the valid and final will be the SHORT RULES created by the organizer
• If there are no short rules added by the Organizer of the contest, the participant will be obliged by the GENERAL RULES only
• These short rules are allowing additional texts for the following components:

2. File Requirements

• Minimum file size should be 1 MB
• File sizes in MP: 21MP + (or more) i.e., the short side to be at least 3800 pixels (Similar to: 70.45 x 100.64 cm at 137Dpi
• Photographs should be not participating in other VOUBS contests
• Acceptable file formats for original print: TIF, TIFF, JPG, JPEG
• For TIF – no limitations
• EXIF data should be left in the image file
• All participants should be able to provide higher resolution printable files if selected among the winners

4. Availability

• This contest is available worldwide
• Cash award winners from VIPA 2016 are not allowed to participate

5. Voting

• Maximum total score is 100 points
• Maximum average rating of 10 from JURY members gives 80 points
• Maximum number of votes received gives 4 points
• Maximum average rating of 10 from USERS gives 4 points
• Maximum number of views gives 2 points
• Maximum number of WINGS received gives 10 points
• Any media which does not receive the maximum amount will receive a ratio result compared to the highest score available

6. Recommendations

• • Join only with photographs related to the contest topic
• • Join with new photographs made especially for the contest
• • Increase your chances for the “Category winner” award by joining all the contests from the same category
• • Increase your chances for the “Photographer of the year award” by joining as much contests from VIPA 2017 as you can

7. Awards

• 1st place wins 500 Euro
• From 2nd to 20th place wins 20 WINGS
• 1st place in category wins 1000 Euro
• Photographer of the year wins 5000 Euro
• All cash award winners will be exhibited with their selected photographs

8. Payments

• The 1st place winner will be paid up to 30 days
• The category winner will be paid up to 30 days
• The photographer of the year will be paid in up to 1 year on a monthly basis 12x 416,66 Euro per month

9. Other

• This contest is part from the “People” category of VIPA 2017
• The winner from the “People” category wins 1000 Euro cash award
• The winner from the “People” category will be the photographer who gained highest total score as a sum from all the 4th contests related to this category – Children, Family, Lifestyle, Portraits
• The highest total score is a sum from your 4 best photographs participating in the “People” category
• The winner in this contest must agree and sign a partnership contract before receiving his/her award.
• The “Category” winner must agree and sign a partnership contract before receiving his/her award
• The “Photographer of the year” must agree and sign a partnership contract before receiving his/her award
