SKYHIVE Skyscrape Architecture Contest: The SKYHIVE Skyscraper Challenge is looking to create an iconic high rise structure for an office tower with state-of-the-art facilities. Working in partnership with the Manipal Executive Education, winning entries will be showcased in their Global Tall Building Studio - Design Workshop in Dubai, where architecture students and in industry leaders collaborate to conceptualise the future of high-rise structures.

Construction Container Facelift: This is an open architecture ideas competition, welcoming submissions and participants from all countries and all levels of experience. The brief is flexible, allowing for projects that offer purely aesthetic solutions and those that propose a revolution of the entire construction process, with the containers being replaced with alternative and more sustainable options that have less of an impact on the cityscape.

Pape Bird Observation Tower: The Pape Nature Park is home to a uniquely diverse ecosystem. There are a great number of protected plant, animal and bird species concentrated within the relatively small park area, which is located in the Nica and Rucava Municipalities in the South Western region of Latvia.

Amber Road Trekking Cabins Architecture Competition: The AMBER ROAD TREKKING CABINS architecture competition, in partnership with the Latvia Nature Conservation Agency, is calling for designs for a series of trekking cabins to be situated along the immense and beautiful Amber Road trekking path. The path will span the full length of Latvia, running along the Baltic Sea beaches which are an undiscovered gem of Northern Europe’s pristine natural beauty.

Modern Collective Living Challenge: The Modern Collective Living Challenge is part of the Bee Breeders Global Housing Crisis competition series. For this architecture competition, participants are tasked with envisioning new forms of accessible housing for relocated farmers in rural China. With this competition, participants are tasked to envision a housing solution for these relocated farmers; creating modern housing for small communities, in which individuals would not be forced into changing their collective way of living.

Adelaide Creative Community Hub: What makes a ‘creative city’? And what capacity does architecture have to foster, inspire, or use to celebrate creativity within an urban environment? These questions are part of a growing discussion in Adelaide, Australia, surrounding what the city could be, and how to make Adelaide a more creative, vibrant, and innovative place to live. Participants are welcome to design a permanent building, or temporary and transportable urban element that would facilitate a specific set of functions.

Hong Kong Pixel Home: Design a pilot-phase concept for affordable housing within Hong Kong, which can be easily rolled out to increase the capacity of housing stock and is minimal in its use of land and materials. Designs for the Hong Kong Pixel Homes should be versatile to adapt to different locations across the city and be flexible, allowing adjustments to be made in order to suit different residential capacity requirements.

Mango vinyl hub: The world is witnessing resurgence in the popularity of vinyl records. The vinyl renaissance reminds us that records, unlike downloaded digital music files, are tangible objects that can be collected and experienced in a more tangible and personal way. In 2014, some 900,000 vinyl albums were sold in the UK alone, indicating that digital is not the only way to listen to music. Participants are invited to submit their visions for a multipurpose building to be located in Cesis, Latvia.

Stone barn meditation camp: The Stone Barn Meditation Camp architecture competition is a partnership with SRED property developers to create a multipurpose recreational space. Participants are tasked with presenting ideas for a venue, which focuses on wellness tourism and offers holistic outlets such as meditation and yoga. The Stone Barn Meditation Camp will look to become a regional example for green building practice.

Silent Meditation Forest Cabins: The Silent Meditation Forest Cabins is a collaboration with Ozolini teamakers, run by Brigita and Dima Lukini from Riga, Latvia. Drawing on generations of knowledge and experience with herbs and tea-making, the couple create mixtures of herbal teas for everyday life to offer to city-dwellers

NEMRUT VOLCANO EYES: The Nemrut Volcano Eyes architecture competition is tasking participants with envisioning an observation point. Positioned at an altitude of about 2,800 metres on the southern edge of the crater, the lookout point will provide visitors with outstanding views overlooking Lake Van and its surroundings.

Sydney Affordable Housing Challenge : Working with limited resources participants are challenged to create solutions to make Sydney’s housing market more accessible, with the winning designs to be presented at the Sydney Build Expo 2018.

Iceland Northern Lights Rooms: Participants for this competition are tasked with designing a guest house experience that allows visitors to watch the splendor of the Northern Lights directly from the comfort of their own beds.

Black Balsam Laboratory: In order to entice a younger audience and expand the traditional drink’s popularity, Bee Breeders are tasking participants with designing a series of small-scale “laboratories” which could be situated in any location around the world. Each laboratory would only need to be big enough to accommodate a bartender and provide a workstation for guests to experiment and create their own cocktails using Black Balsam.

Pape Nature Park Gateway: Pape Nature Park Gateway competition is tasking participants with redesigning the entrance to the park; making it both enticing and functional to visitors to the park, it includes several key features, such as picnic and camping grounds, while making the gateway iconic and an integral part of the park’s image.

The BIG Tiny Coffee House Challenge: It’s hard to remember a time when there wasn’t a coffee shop perched on every corner. With the boom of coffee culture in the late 90s, mornings seem unbearable without the support of a caffeine kick. Emulating the cosmopolitan New York lifestyle of shows like Friends, Seinfeld, and Sex and the City, ambiance-inspired cafés that encourage its customer to linger were a big step away from the greasy spoons of yesteryear.

KEMERI NATIONAL PARK OBSERVATION TOWER: Third-largest national park in one of Europe’s greenest country, Kemeri is a stunning and eclectic mix of forests, lakes, swamps and ancient raised bogs. Situated just a 1-hour train ride from Latvia’s capital, Riga, the park is home to a wide range of fauna including rare birds like the black stork, as well as moose, deer, elk, foxes, wolves, and wild cattle and horses. These were all reintroduced into this unique ecosystem with some help from the World Wildlife Fund.

Irish Cult Music Venue: For a relatively small country, Ireland has a rich musical history which is incredibly diverse and spanning all musical genres. Connolly's of Leap is a venue which promotes all types of music; from traditional Irish folk music, to the most avant garde electronic music of today. The IRISH MUSIC VENUE architecture competition focuses on breathing new life into an existing and iconic music venue in the heart of rural Ireland.

Great Kemeri Bog Visitor Center Architecture Competition: The Great Kemeri Bog Visitor Center architecture competition is the second in a series run in conjunction with the Latvia Nature Conservation Agency. The participants are invited to submit designs for an entry point to the nature park.
